Answer:

No of moles of

KCl = 2.96/ 74.5 = 0.04 moles

O2 = 1.92 / 32 = 0.06 moles.

KCl is produced in less amount.

Reaction:-

2KClO3 ——> 2KCl + 3O2

From reaction we know,

2 moles KClO3 will produce 2moles KCl

Let x moles KClO3 produce 0.04 moles KCl

Then x = 0.04 moles KCl * 2 moles KClO3 / 2 moles KCl

ie:- x = 0.04 * 2 / 2

X = 0.04 moles of KClO3

Molar mass KClO3 = 39+35.5+3*16

= 122.5g

0.04 * 122.5 = 4.9 g

X = 4.9g.

Answer:

X gram of potassium chloride on decomposing produced 1.9gm of oxygen and 2.9gm of potassium chloride.

2KCl3 produced 2KCl + 3O2

xgram -2.9gram produced 1.9gram

x=1.9+2.9gram

x =4.8gram
