when you add a few drops of acidic acid to a test tube containing sodium bi carbonate powder which one of the following is your observation

1 - no reaction takes place
2- are colourless gas with pungent smell is released with brisk effervescence

When you add a few drops of acidic acid to a test tube containing sodium bi carbonate powder ,CO2 gas is evolved.
it is released with brisk effervescence and yes it is colourless .
thus,option 2 colourless gas  is released with brisk effervescence  is right.
