When you apply the brakes, the bicycle stops and the rim of the wheel becomes hot. explain the reason?

THIS IS BECAUSE OF THE FRICTION
because when there is more friction more heat is produced i.e rough surfaces eg; try rubbing your hands you'll get the answer

It occurs due to friction between the wheel and the surface.rim becomes hot because the wheel and the surface perform friction
