I like to eat Apples and some other fruits and I have sliced thousands of apples in my life. So I think I can answer your incomplete question. When we cut something with knife or blade, we are not actually cutting but rather breaking or cracking the things. Cutting or slicing can be understood better by the a wedge cutting a tree trunk. Here is a picture of wedge in action. When a knife is used to cut an apple, the knife is pushed on the apple at a point until the pressure applied on the knife reaches the ultimate tensile strength of apples skin. Less pressure is required because the pressure is inversely proportional to area and our knife edge have very less surface area, which we call a sharp edge. After that same wedge principle comes into action and the knife easily slice the apple in two halves. When the intermolecular structure of apple's skin is break, it produces some heat but it is almost negligible.

After using the beautiful concept of science for slicing an apple, the sharp knife goes back, to the knife tray and wait for an another apple while the poor apple goes straight into a hungry stomach.

Thankyou…✨
