when you have a half a number that ends in 4 you always get a number that ends in 2. why is she wrong

There are 2 number which when doubled end with 4 :

7 (7×2=14)

2 (2×2=4)

So a number cannot always end with 2 when halved as you can also get 7 at the last.

Example: 34, when halved gives 17

Last digit of 17 is not 2 but 7
