1. An integer represents a fraction as a part of a whole in mathematics. Fractions represent parts or sections of any whole; the whole can be anything, from numbers to values to objects.
2. There are two parts to fractions, the numerator and the denominator. For example: - 4/7, where 4 is the numerator and 7 is the denominator.
3. There are four types of fractions:

• Proper fraction- Fractions with a numerator less than a denominator are considered proper fractions.

• Improper fractions- If the numerator is equal to or is larger than the denominator, the fraction is improper.

• Unit fractions- The fractions that have 1 as the numerator are called unit fractions.

• Mixed fractions- When a whole number and a proper fraction are mixed together, they are called mixed fractions.

• Fractions with the same denominator are called like fractions.
