when you keep iron article exposed to water and atmosphere, a reddish brown layer deposits on it called rust. can this change be reversed? if not, why​

If rust has deposited on the iron article, then it cannot be reversed because it's a chemical change and in a chemical change a new substance is formed and that cannot be reversed....

But, we can remove the rust deposited on iron by cleaning it with sand paper....
