when you lift a match box from the floor and put it on anew almiral the potential energy of the box increases but there is no change in kinetic energy? explain

See.. When we lift a matchbox form the floor to some certain height .. It's potential energy increases but there is no change in kinetic energy and initially it was zero and finally also it is zero . but however while the matchbox was being lifted up , there was increases in velocity and thus there was change in kinetic energy but in case of he 2 cases 2 gave ( initial and final ) , there is no change
