When you make ice cubes, the entropy of water decreases...This does not violate the second law of thermodynamics.. The entropy of a mole of ice is less than the a mole of water at the same temperature and pressure. This follows from the negative slope of the ice/water phase diagram coupled with the expansion of ice when it freezes.
