When you pull a cotton sweater off your skin, the electrons are transferred from the skin as the result your body acquired a positive charge and the cotton sweater acquires a  negative charge.

  • There is the transfer of electrons from the skin to the body as the cotton sweater will come into touch with the skin while removal.
  • There is a loss of electrons from the skin to the cotton sweater and when an electron is lost from a body it usually gets a positive charge on it making it a cation.
  • The cotton sweater here gains an electron making it acquire a negative charge as gains of an electron from another body lead to a negative charge on it by making it an anion.
