When you push a concrete wall, work done is zero. Give reason

Question: Explain why no work is done when a man tries to push a wall? Answer: Even though the man exerts force on the wall , the wall does not move. Work done = force applied * displacement and since the displacement of the wall is zero. , work done is also zero.

Work done (W) = force ∗ displacement.

Work done (W) = force ∗ displacement.Hence, work is said to be done when there is displacement. In this case the wall does not displace from its position even though the force is applied and since displacement is zero work done is said to be zero.
