Explanation:

When a object is in the state of rest, static friction is there. As the static friction is self adjustable in nature, when you try to move the object the static friction get converted into limiting friction which is the maximum frictional force (NOTE: THE OBJECT IS STILL IN THE STATE OF REST) once the object moves the limiting friction get converted into kinetic friction which is less then limiting friction. That's why when the object moves the resistance you feel decreases.
