The distance formula

  • It is used to calculate the distance between any two points lying in any 2-D plane.

                          Formula is \sqrt{(x-x_1) (y - y_2)}

  • Similarly for calculating the distance between 3-points in 3-D plane.

                        Formula is  \sqrt{(x-x_1) (y - y_2)(z - z_3)}

  • Similarly for finding distance from any plane let ax+by+cz-d=0 to a point (x_1,x_2)

                       Formula is \frac{|ax_1+by_1+cz_1-d|}{\sqrt{a^2+b^2+c^2} }
