when zn metal reacts with x = h2so4
znso4 is produced with a gas named hydrogen.

It can be tested by taking a lighted match stick near it.It will extinguish making a pop sound.

Hence,it is the required test to be done to recognise that the evolved gas is H. i.e hydrogen.

Zn + dilute acid -------------> Zn²⁺ + H₂

eg: Zn + H₂SO₄ -------------> ZnSO₄ + H₂

Here, Hydrogen gas is evolved.

It can be identified by its characteristic POP sound when a burning splinter or a lighter is brought near the gas.

This POP sound is because, Hydrogen gas is a supporter of combustion and burns when a burning splinter is brought near to it, thus producing the POP sound.

Hope it helps!!
