Zn is more reactive than Cu. It will displace Cu form CuSO4 sol. and form ZnSO4. As Zn is in the form of dust, the reaction is very quick

When Zn dust is added to a solution of copper sulphate in enough quantity, due to the more reactivity of zinc than copper and due to the larger surface area of zinc dust, Zn replaces Cu in CuSO₄ and produces ZnSO₄.
The solution colour disappears which was initially blue(colour of CuSO₄ solution). Not only that the shinny metallic copper precipitates at the bottom of the beaker.
