When Zn reacts with HCl ,it results into evolution of hydrogen gas but the same is not observed when it reacts with HNO3. Because when Zn is reacted with HNO3, There is release lf nascent oxygen [O], which readily react with evolved hydrogen to give water, so In overall we get water as product.
