Given info : A magnet is moved either towards or away from a conducting coil.
To find : An emf is induced the magnitude of which is independent of ....
Solution : induced emf is the negative of rate of change in magnetic flux.
i.e., ε = - dΦ/dt
We know, magnetic flux, Φ = NBA
so, ε = - d(NBA)/dt
Therefore it is clear that, induced magnetic field depends on,
- number of turns
- magnetic field
- cross sectional area
- time
But it is independent of resistance of coil.
Therefore magnitude of induced emf is independent of resistance of coil.
