whenever O-C2H5 is given then it is called Ethoxy. But in O-Ethylanisole structure O-C2H5 means C2H5 is attached nxt to it. why?

buddy!!!! you'r confusing with the O's here. O-C2H5 means ethoxy, and in o-Ethylanisole structure o-C2H5 means C2H5 is attached next to the principal carbon atom of the benzene ring.
