Whenever we act against the voice of your conscience the result is suffering .explain with refrence to the poet action against the snake and its consequences

In the poem "the snake" the poet found to be attracted by a snake and treated it as a guest who came to his garden to quench its thirst. But his voice of education forced him to killed the snake who hadnot harm him at all. Atlast the poet threw a log of wood.As a result of which he had to regretted for his sinful action.
