When one sees, smells or even “thinks” about a food they like, their mouth starts to water producing more saliva. The desire to eat that food combined with the imagery becomes so strong and “real” that your brain is actually tricked into believing that you are having that food! And that is when your brain coaxes your mouth to produce more saliva. It’s almost as if we fool our own brain! On the flipside though, if you see, smell or taste food that you don’t really have a penchant for, your mouth will not produce much saliva and will be dry-ish. This is what happens when you are eating your least favourite vegetables!
