Whenever we have a cough/cold there is a pain in our ear. why??

Sometimes ear wax can harden and block the ear canal, causing discomfort and itching, earache, and more. A foreign object in the ear may cause pain, redness, drainage problems, and in rare case, hearing loss.


When Cold Symptoms Include an Earache. “With a cold, you can get ear pain because the eardrum gets inflamed by the viral infection,” says Richard Rosenfeld, MD, MPH, professor and chairman of otolaryngology at the State University of New York in Brooklyn. The dull, sharp, or burning earache will go away with the cold.
