Our world would have been in utter darkness if there were no sun to shine. In order to shine bright the sun has been burning. Similarly, there are other types of darkness in our life. Darkness such as of disability, failure, difficulties, etc. This darkness is dispelled by the courage and strength of great, inspiring personages.

There have been many great personalities who create light in the dark world of failures, disabilities, and difficulties. Personalities such as Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin, Isaac Newton, Socrates, Thomas Edison, Abraham Lincoln, Charlie Chaplin, Henry Ford, Bill Gates, Walt Disney, Helen Keller, Booker T. Washington, Mahatma Gandhi, etc. are the most amazing examples of personalities who created light in this otherwise dark world.

Two names attract everyone’s attention particularly as they really had to burn more than others; one name is Helen Keller and the other is Booker T Washington. Both realized success by unprecedented perseverance. Helen Keller worked untiringly and determinedly to overcome her disabilities; Booker T. Washington faced innumerable challenges before getting the crown of success. All the great men of all the times and all the climes share common success stories. They dared; they continued chasing dreams until they become realities. So if you want to shine in the dark world, continue burning with all your heart, will, and determination.

Hey! So this is my first ever post, I’m not really sure what I intend to write about yet but probably just things on my mind-hopefully consistently too unlike my past blogs. Anyhow, been thinking about light recently, hence the quote about darkness and light which is really beautiful by Bono. Light can’t be hidden-if it is then there’s no point in having a light in the first place, ie: A city on a hill can’t be hidden. I think sometimes when we try and cover up a light, or metaphorically ‘our’ light, it still glows because it’s in its nature to shine. In fact, light is actually really cool. Like, It has so many characteristics that I’ve never thought about before such as: it spreads, it travels quickly-quicker than sound, it reflects, refracts, etc I’m not that great at physics.

Darkness is just waiting for light. I think some people are like that-I’ve noticed that sometimes the people who seem to resist the light the most, are the people that need it the most. Light is goodness and being more than content. I’d like to think of myself as a bright-shining person, and I’m, still aspiring to, shine more, to not be afraid of going against the grain. Light totally changes darkness so that it will never be the same. Maybe it’s quite cool to live on the dark side, be rebellious, be popular. But in the end, is that really going to matter at all? There’s this thing about being popular by doing anything to fit in, but the truth is that it’s not worth the effort. Be yourself. People might hate me for being a light, being maybe what’s seen as boring, but being a light is having an extravagant personality instead of pretending to be sort of kind of an extravagantly rebellious kid.

Everyone has some kind of goodness in them, whether it’s really hidden away, secret, brightly burning or whatever. Whatever we are, I really hate it when people are fake about it, just be true to who you are!

Anyway that was just a kind of quick thought that turned into a reel of imagination, but I guess it’s cool cos it’s my blog so I can do what I want.
