convectional rainfall can take place in several places such as savanna region where it is very hot.

when an area is heated the ground becomes very hot and the  air from the ground begins to rise ( these are called convectional currents, hence the name convectional rainfall) to the sky because hot and cold air don't mix. the risen hot air in the sky begins to condense and form rain . Thats  how convectional rainfall is formed

Answer:

Convectional rainfall is common in place with equatorial regions and tropical regions.

In these, the warm air rises up and expands then, reaches a cooler layer and saturates, then condenses mainly in the form of cumulus or cumulonimbus clouds. In the equatorial regions, the precipitation due to convectional rainfall occurs in the afternoon.
