Site of fertilization is :-Ampulla of fallopian tubes......
Ovum is released in the secondary oocyte stage .Due to ciliary action of fimbrae of oviduct ovum is drawn out through ostium.
......It then reaches the ampulla ( a part of fallopian tube)
A human sperm can live for 28-48 hours after ejaculation.Sperms move in the liquid medium secreted by the female genital tract
This sperm finally reaches the ampulla...and finally after a series of processes they both fuse successfully and thus fertilization occurs
which results in the formation of a diploid zygote.
