Lions are found mainly in North western and central parts of India especially in the Gir wildlife forest.

Explanation:

  • Lions are majestic wild animals found in the forests and jungles. They are very ferocious and are often known as the King of the Forest.
  • Lions are mainly found in the dense jungles of North India and Central India.
  • The Gir forests of Gujarat are also the habitat of the lions. Madhya Pradesh is also home to quite a ‘large number of lions’.
  • However, these lions are now on the ‘verge of extinction’ and their numbers are decreasing every year at a very alarming rate.
