The Amazon Rainforest is located in 9 different countries but the majority of it (around 60%) is located in Brazil. The rest of it can be found in Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana (which is technically an overseas territory). While in theory you have 9 different places to experience the Amazon, realistically those who want to explore the rainforest will want to base themselves in one of the following countries: Brazil, Peru, Bolivia or Ecuador. These countries have an excellent infrastructure for visitors to the Amazon, so you won’t need to worry about trying to navigate through on your own and getting lost. In fact, in many places travellers aren’t allowed into the rainforest unless they are accompanied by a guide as the chances of getting lost are pretty high and the risk of encountering a dangerous animal is certainly not non-existent.

Amazon is majorly rainforest with dense diversity of flora surrounding the Amazon river. When a forest is characterized as rainforest it is not deprived of rain in any part of an year. Tropical rainforest receive about 250 to 450 cm of rainfall annually. Amazon forest has hot and humid climate and it is densely cover with diverse flora.
Indian forest is deciduous forest in its majority. The deciduous forests are characterized by long dry season which can last several months. India is a country of vast topography. Apart from an amazing biodiversity the huge demograph of Indian subcontinent left the forest fragmented over the years. India is a Peninsula surrounded by Arabian sea in the west, Indian ocean in the south and bay of Bengal in the east which makes it prone to various climate in various topography of Indian subcontinent. These are the reason you can witness different types of vegetation and wildlife in different areas of India.
The major difference between the Amazon basin and the Indian forests is that the Indian forests are fragmented because of reasons mentioned above and the Amazon rainforest have dense vegetation with less human interference.
