The greatest single area of tropical evergreen forest is the Amazon Basin, in the northern half of South America. Similar forests are found through the isthmus of Panama and into southern Mexico, and they cover the Congo Basin in equatorial Africa and the southern fringe of West Africa. In India , they are common in the western Ghats , Andaman and Nicobar Islands , Kerela and the North - Eastern parts of the country. Tropical Evergreen forest are found in the tropical regions where there is rainfall throughout the year. These forests are known as tropical rain forests. The trees reach upto 60 metres.
