  • vacuoles are present in both plants and animals
  • difference is that...plants have one large vacuole
  • while in animals...generally lower forms have them..they are small and present 2 to 3 numbers

#plants- role of vacuoles in plants is to provide turgidity to plant cells. They cover 90% volume of the cell...so also make the cell light weighted

#animals- role of vacuoles in animals is generally for buoyancy and osmoregulation in lower protists like amoeba. Some gas vacuoles also present purple or green photosynthetic bacteria to provide buoyancy.
