- difference is that...plants have one large vacuole
- while in animals...generally lower forms have them..they are small and present 2 to 3 numbers

#animals- role of vacuoles in animals is generally for buoyancy and osmoregulation in lower protists like amoeba. Some gas vacuoles also present purple or green photosynthetic bacteria to provide buoyancy.
