Golgi body are composed of three membranous structures which are as follows
1. Cisterna
2. Vesicles
3. Vacuoles
CISTERNAE - they are flat long tube like structure which are arranged in parallel order and are called functional unit of golgi body.
VESICLES - are small drop like sacs present at the periphery of cisternae of golgi body.
They are composed by the budding in the cisternal tubules or due to the constriction at their ends .
Two types vesicles are attached to the cisternal tubules.
1. Smooth vesicles
2. Rough or coated vesicles
VACUOLES - they are large sized sac like structure situated at both the ends of cisternae.
