Boric acid or sassolite is a weak acid that is crystalline in nature and is derived from borax. It is used as a mild anticeptic or also in the manufacture of heat-resistant glass and enamels.
Boric acid is found in many naturally occurring minerals like borax, boracite etc.
Geographically, boric acid is found natively in the volcanic states like Tuscany in Italy, Lipari Islands and Nevada in U.S.
