Convection can only happen in fluids. This includes liquids and gases and is because the molecules have to be free to move. Convection currents can be found in the boiling of liquid, the heat of a campfire, the weather, and even the magma in the earth

Answer:

Convection currents are the results of differential heating. Lighter (less dense), warm material rises while heavier (more dense) cool material sinks. It is this movement that creates circulation patterns known as convection currents in the atmosphere, in water, and in the mantle of the Earth.

I hope it will help you for your understanding.
