Ideally, page numbers should appear at the bottom of each page of the business document. At the bottom, it may be aligned to the right side of the page or centred for balance. It should be the last ‘typed or printed’ line on the document. The organisation’s address line, logo etc. may appear below it.
Professional documents show page numbers as ‘Page 1 of 2, Page 2 of 2 etc.’, and not just a page number.
It is important that business documents are formatted and pages numbered correctly. It brings out the professionalism of the organisation and helps when it comes to legalities.
