Rajkumar Shukla was the person who convinced Mr. M.K. Gandhi to visit Champaran for the Champaran Satyagraha. Shukla was a poor and emaciated peasant from Champaran.Gandhiji met Rajkumar shukla at Lucknow. In the annual Congress party session held at Lucknow, he came to complain about the injustices of the landlord system in Bihar.He met Gandhi, introduced himself and told him that he had come to take him there to help the poor share croppers.
