Kunwar Singh, also known as Babu Kunwar Singh joined the Indian Rebellion of 1857 in Bihar.

He was almost eighty years old when he led a band of armed soldiers against the British and gave them a good fight till the end.

On 25th July, he took over the soldiers who revolted at Danapur and two days later occupied the district headquarters, Arrah.
