Munshi Premchand was the pen name of Dhanpat Rai Srivastav. He joined Queen's college but passed with second division in 10th grade. He was not allowed to read there . He then joined Central Hindu college but he wasn't good in mathematics.So he gave up studies . He coached an advocate 's son in benaras.He read lot of books.And after writing his first book he went to work as a school teacher .
Rabindranath Tagore received his education in home as he was not interested in studies.At the age of 17, he was sent to England but wasn't qualified
