• He was badly injured, ribs broken and mouth filled with blood, he tried to reach the boat.
• When they reduced, the narrator was sent to the hospital.

• Natasha Revenko shares her memories with the writer. The writer accompanies Natasha to Vorobyov village from Moscow.

• Natasha tells her about what had happened on April 26th 1986 in Vorobyov village in Ukraine. There was an explosion early in the morning. This was a bigger one then the earlier ones. After the explosion there was a cloud of white smoke coming from the nuclear reactor.

• Children of the village played outside on the next Saturday. It was a lovely weekend. The children continued playing even when the dust began falling. They picked handfuls of dust and threw it at each other merrily. A day or two later, a loudspeaker van came to the village with the announcement telling the people not to allow children to come out, they were asked not to touch the radioactive dust the announcement asked the people to wash down the houses and roads with water.

• Only after a week the ill ill effects were seen. Children began to vomit. Their hair began to fall. They couldn't eat. Sores appeared all over their bodies. two weeks later three children died on the same day. They were buried in a church graveyard. And lots of adults and children in the village died.

• After the mishap the village was a ghost town. No one lived there. They died or have been forcibly sent away. Nothing grew in the fields. There were no birds or animals.
