Due to more Industrial Expansion and building up of new factories, the workers got employment.
With the expansion of railway, many workers were employed to setup the tracks and other jobs.
During the first world war, industries were setup and old ones ran multiple shifts, so workers became busy.

After the 1840's ie with the coming up of the Industrial Revolution, 80% of the workers moved from the rural areas to urban areas. There was urbanisation during that period due to which the working class benefited the most. Their living conditions improved and there were reduced chances of famines.
With the establishment of more industries, more workers got employment and their standards of living improved drastically.
