When I decided to spend my semester abroad in Guadalajara in Mexico, I did not really know much about the country or the city except that it is the place where the famous Netflix series #Narcos plays. However, Guadalajara is not as dangerous as it is displayed in these series. On the very contrary: It is a beautiful city with a lot of history. It is famous for the typical Mexican "Mariachi" music, its big old town with its old churches as well as its football club the "Chivas". The exchange university was TEC de Monterrey. The campus is huge and has a gym, a Starbucks, an American football stadium on the campus, football fields, plenty of tennis courts and much more.

Furthermore, thanks to the central location of Guadalajara where you can almost travel to each part of Mexico within 2 hours by plane, I was able to visit a lot of beautiful cities, even more beautiful beaches, and archaeological sites from the Mayans and Aztecs.
