Hi there,

A contract is an agreement which is composed of all the dos and dont's of a deal. It consists of where the line lies and what actions in what timeline are prohibited and what can be done. All the data of the time, money and etc are given. In order for any discrepancy from one party, the other party can hold the contract against them and file a report on the basis of that very contract. Therefore which means that they have authority in the form of the agreement they have signs.

Thanks for asking.
