Lipids are synthesized in the Smooth endoplasmic reticulum (SER), and the proteins are synthesized in the rough endoplasmic reticulum (RER). The proteins are produced in the rough endoplasmic reticulum, which is called so because it has the endoplasmic reticulum's ribosomes. Ribosomes help in protein synthesis.
