• The protagonist sees a man with a proper humanly face and is very scared and is shocked to see that man in that manner.
• Although the protagonist knew that going out at night from the hostel wasn't safe but he still wanted to have some experience that he had had never before hence he yelled out the lines when he saw the man without a face in the dark.
