ANSWER :
- The Tundra swan is native to the Arctic tundra, and migrates to the Pacific and Atlantic coasts of North America for the winter.
- The scientific name of the Tundra swan is Cygnus columbianus.
- An adult has a white plumage , erect and long neck, black bill, and black feet. Sometimes, it has prominent yellow spots or patches on the base of its bill. The snowy white adult may sport a brownish neck and head, courtesy with iron minerals found in marshy feeding areas. The cygnet has a grey plumage, pinkish bill and pink feet.
- To search for food such as shellfish and aquatic vegetation, the Tundra swan submerges its head and neck underwater!
- Tundra swans are called as ' whistling swans' not because they whistle, but because of the sounds made by the rhythmic beating of their wings during flight.
