We get coal from decomposition and stacking up of trees for a very long period of time

We get coal inside the Earth's crust.
It is formed by the process of carbonisation. It is the process in which the dead parts of trees are buried deep inside the Earth's crust and hence they form coal.
In this way only dead body parts of animals are buried deep inside the Earth's crust forming Petroleum.
Hope it helps you.
