We get the stimulus from the environment i.e either the internal or external environment.

Explanation:

  • In biology, a stimulus can be described as any change in the normal conditions of an organism which is detected by the cells of the body of the organism.

  • In response to the stimulus an effect is generated so that the body can acquire its normal conditions back.

  • For example, vision is a stimulus generated by the cells of the eye in response of which we are able to see things.
