Kink is used on the X-axis... never on the Y-Axis. If the intervals between the origin and the first mark on the X axis is very large and the following marks are of a different size, a Kink is used.

For eg.

The readings are 100, 150, 200, 250, 300.

U start from 0. Add a kink. And then the successive intervals are of 50. Only the first interval is of 100.
