Waste that is not separated for recycling is incinerated at the Energy from Waste Plant at La Collette. Although we generate local electricity from burning rubbish, incineration creates ash and requires a gas cleaning process to ensure the facility continues to comply with its' Waste Management Licence and EU air quality standards.
