Where do you think the writer is of 'The North Ship? And how does the third ship goes 'wide and far' if there is 'no breath of wind came forth'?

This was the biggest doubt in English in our class. Even I'm a tenth standard student, I asked the same doubt to my English teacher. She replied "don't write the direction bcos while they were sailing in lots of direction the wind pushes them and they travel in different direction so it's not necessary to include all those direction in exams and also it won't b asked much"
