Answer:
In "Nikolai Gogol’s" satirical short story “The Nose”, Ivan Yakovlevich found "Major Kovalyov's" nose in the bread which he was going to eat. "Ivan Yakovlevich" is a barber by profession. One day during breakfast, he cuts a loaf of bread made by his wife in half only to find a nose in it. Petrified at his discovery, he then remembers that the nose belonged to Major Kovalyov, one of his regular customers. On finding out, Ivan's wife becomes angry and asks him to take it away from their home. Wrapping it up in a cloth, he tries to throw it into the Neva River, but fails as he gets caught by a police officer. He tries to bribe the officer but the latter doesn’t agree to it.
