The sperm enters through the fallopian tube and fuses with the ovum at the site of ovulation (refer to a diagram on google) to form the zygote. The zygote divides to form an embryo after a few weeks and gets placed to the placenta of the uterus. The embryo then develops into a foetus which is when the body parts are visible.

Mitosis is the division of somatic cells of the body.
