River Cauvery originates from Talakaveri.

With the elevation of about 1276 m MSL in Brahmagiri hills of Western Ghats in Kodagu district of Karnataka, Cauvery River originates.

Since, it does not have enough to get snowfall near the equator, it does not originate from glaciers or lakes but begins with the small streams from the rainwater runoff or spring.
